Giveaway Terms & Conditions
One eligible winner receives 12 months of DinnerMatch Dinners & Drinks membership without membership fees. Food, drinks, travel and personal expenses are not included. The specific entry opening and closing dates, closing time and winner selection/announcement date must be provided in the official giveaway announcement or entry materials before the promotion begins.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to promotional giveaways organised by DinnerMatch (Pty) Ltd (“DinnerMatch”, “we”, “us” or “Promoter”). Each giveaway's official announcement or entry materials specify the relevant prize, opening and closing dates, and any additional conditions. Those published details form part of the applicable terms. By entering, participants agree to these terms.
2. Eligibility
Unless the specific promotion states otherwise, entrants must be at least 18 years old, reside in Cape Town or Johannesburg, South Africa, and provide accurate contact details. Employees of DinnerMatch and individuals directly involved in administering the giveaway are not eligible. No purchase or paid membership is required to enter.
3. How to enter
Complete and submit the official giveaway entry form during the advertised entry period. One entry per person is permitted unless stated otherwise. Duplicate, automated, fraudulent, misleading or incomplete entries may be disqualified. Following DinnerMatch on Instagram is encouraged but is not required to enter or win. Entries received after the published closing time will not be accepted.
4. Prize
For the “Win 1 Year of DinnerMatch” promotion, one winner receives 12 months of DinnerMatch Dinners & Drinks membership, free of membership fees. Membership benefits are subject to the usual membership terms, scheduling and event availability. The winner pays for their own food, drinks, transport and personal expenses. Attendance at events is optional. The prize does not guarantee a particular number of events, matches, friendships or romantic outcomes. The membership period begins upon activation. The prize is not transferable, redeemable for cash or available for resale. Other giveaways may specify different prizes in their official announcements.
5. Dates
Each giveaway's opening date, closing date and time, and winner-selection or announcement date will be specified in its official announcement or entry materials. Any material change will be communicated through appropriate channels, subject to applicable law.
6. Winner selection
Unless stated otherwise, one winner will be chosen at random from eligible entries received by the deadline. Selection will be conducted fairly and in accordance with applicable South African promotional competition requirements. The winner will be contacted using the details supplied and may be asked to provide reasonable evidence of identity, age and eligibility.
7. Claiming the prize
The selected winner must respond and claim the prize within seven calendar days of the first notification. If the winner cannot be contacted, fails to respond, declines or is ineligible, DinnerMatch may select an alternative eligible winner in accordance with applicable law. The membership will be activated after verification and completion of the necessary arrangements.
8. Winner announcement
DinnerMatch may announce the giveaway outcome by email, on its website or on its social media accounts. A winner's identifying details, photograph or other personal information will only be published with the necessary permission or another lawful basis.
9. Personal information
DinnerMatch processes entry information to administer the promotion, verify entries and eligibility, notify entrants of the outcome, award the prize and meet legal recordkeeping obligations, in accordance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and its applicable privacy notices. Entering a giveaway does not automatically constitute consent to unrelated marketing. Where marketing communications are sent on a lawful basis, recipients can opt out as required by law.
10. Fair participation
DinnerMatch may disqualify entries involving fraud, manipulation, misrepresentation, duplicate submissions or material violations of these terms, acting reasonably and consistently with applicable law.
11. Changes or cancellation
DinnerMatch may amend, suspend or cancel a promotion where reasonably necessary due to circumstances outside its reasonable control, technical failures or fraud, subject to applicable law. Material changes will be communicated appropriately.
12. Liability
To the extent permitted by South African law, DinnerMatch is not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including third-party service interruptions. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Meta disclaimer
This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Meta, Facebook or Instagram. Participants provide their information to DinnerMatch, not to those platforms for the purposes of administering the promotion.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, including applicable provisions of the Consumer Protection Act and its regulations. Any mandatory legal requirements take precedence over these terms.
